Description

Caraway seed is an exceptionally old spice, native to western Asia, Europe, and Northern Africa. The whole seeds have a quite sweet and nutty flavor, with notes of licorice. The use of caraway seeds is most common in European cuisine, most famously for its presence in German rye bread, Hungarian goulash, and as a topping to scones and other breakfast pastries. They are also used in several liqueurs, including Schnapps, and herbal vinegars.
