Description

Serrano chiles are one of the most ubiquitous variety of chiles in Mexican and Tex-Mex cuisine. Their strong but not overwhelming heat eat and sweet, earthy flavor make these chiles an easy and popular choice to add both spice and color to any recipe. Serrano chiles score from 8,000 to 42,000 on Scoville Heat Scale and are often compared to jalapenos, however serrano chiles are, on average, hotter than their more famous counterpart. Add to sauces, stews, or chili for authentic Mexican flair. To maximize their flavor, toast the dry chiles in a hot skillet until fragrant (30 seconds tops), then either chop them and add them to whatever you are cooking or blend them with some hot water to create a chili paste. You can remove the seeds to minimize spiciness, or keep them if you like it hot.

Naturally vegan and gluten-free.
