A classic breakfast beverage in the Caribbean, and especially Grenada, Cocoa Tea balls don’t contain any tea, but are instead made of ground raw cocoa nibs mixed with spices – bay leaf, nutmeg, and cinnamon. Naturally sugar-free, they make a much healthier and lighter version of hot cocoa which is also rich in antioxidants and minerals thanks to the minimally-processed raw cocoa nibs. One Cocoa Teal ball makes two cups of cocoa tea. Enjoy as is, or add milk and sugar. Our Cocoa Tea balls are purchased through Cocoa Farming Future Initiative, a non-profit that supports fair agricultural practices and wages for cocoa farmers on Grenada. Place one cocoa tea ball into two cups of water. Bring to a boil and whisk until the cocoa ball has completely dissolved (up to ten minutes).
