Description

Juniper berries have a tart and piney-like flavor. They are a common spice is Northern European cuisine, particularly German and Scandinavian, and can be used in both cooking and distilling. They are a fundamental ingredient for traditional dishes such as sauerbraten and sauerkraut, and help reduce the gamey taste of wild meats, such as venison and boar, so they are a great ingredient for marinades. In distilling, they are traditionally used as a flavoring for gin, and also for German-style mulled wine and cider. If used in stews and soups, we recommend infusing their flavor into the liquid using a reusable tea ball, or a muslin bag, or cheesecloth sachet, and remove them before serving. Naturally vegan and gluten-free.

Available in 0.5 and 1 ounce net weight.
